I produced Vospominaniya ("Recollections") as a collaborative map with other members of Kolektiv Goluboy Vagon. The map is intended to explore our relatives' emotional associations with places in the former Soviet Union. In addition to sparking important intergenerational conversations, this map also challenges dominant American portrayals of the Soviet Union as masculine, militaristic, and homogeneous.
"Beyond Sheikh Jarrah" is a story map exploring the events of Sheikh Jarrah in the summer of 2021. It addresses Palestinian displacement within a broader historical and geographical context.
"Uneven Flows" is a map infographic about disparities in water access among Israelis and Palestinians that highlights the role of Israel's National Water Carrier pipeline and checkpoint system in limiting Palestinians' access to water. The map has been featured in the book Displaced Horizons and performance by the same name (both produced by Alexandra Lakind and Rob Lundberg.
I produced maps for El Centro Cultural de México as part of a community-based research project. The maps were part of a report about the organization's Covid relief fund distribution in impacted communities, and the maps visualized recipients' demographic data.
As part of the 2019 Design Challenge, I collaborated with Chris Spencer and Nick Underwood to produce a map that consisted of a series of transparencies. The map represented Chris' experiences navigating Milwaukee, superimposed over the historic division and racialization of the city through redlining.
As part of the 2021 Feminist Visualization Challenge, I collaborated with Erin Clancy and Sameera Ibrahim to design a mock-up website representing the relationship between anti-immigration Public Information Campaigns and changes in border enforcement and militarization. By presenting these materials alongside political funding streams, we showed the entanglement of state violence with seemingly benign campaigns for migrant safety.
I have also developed state maps with historical information and educational maps of Cambodia for academic publication.
